Crypto, supplements, gaming: check eligibility before choosing an ad account

The first question for a regulated advertiser is whether the exact product and campaign can run in the intended market. “Crypto”, “gaming” and “supplements” are broad labels. The account comes after the eligibility check, because a different account does not change what the business actually sells.

Describe the product precisely

Write a one-sentence description of the transaction the customer completes. A store accepting cryptocurrency as payment is different from an exchange offering trading. A game with no monetary prize is different from a service where users stake value to win value. A general wellness product is different from a prescription service.

Google’s cryptocurrency policy explicitly distinguishes ordinary businesses accepting crypto from defined cryptocurrency products. Its gambling and healthcare policies apply separate product and location conditions. Use this classification approach as a checklist; always check the rules of the platform where you intend to advertise.

Crypto and financial products

List the product functions, operator, target countries and any licenses or platform permissions relevant to that activity. Check whether you are promoting education, payment acceptance, a wallet, an exchange or another financial service. These categories should not be treated as interchangeable.

Do not describe investment returns as guaranteed or imply that an account supplier’s relationship replaces the advertiser’s authorization. If a requirement is unclear, resolve it for the actual product and market before committing advertising funds.

Gaming and licensed gambling

Document whether entry or prizes have monetary value, the operator’s role and the jurisdictions where the offer will be available. Where licensing or platform certification applies, confirm the relevant scope before launching. A license for one market should not be assumed to cover another.

Keep the landing page, ad copy and actual service consistent. An informational page should not disguise a gambling destination. A customer and the platform should be able to understand the same advertised business.

Supplements, peptides and health claims

Check the exact ingredient or substance, intended use, claims and market. The word “supplement” does not establish eligibility. Google’s healthcare policy includes restrictions on unapproved substances and certain medical claims. Do not assume that a “research use only” label settles an advertising review.

For peptides or other medically sensitive products, obtain a product-specific review from a qualified regulatory professional and consult the current platform rules. An account supplier cannot validate medical claims or guarantee that a substance can be advertised.

Build an eligibility file before account setup

Keep a short record linking the business facts to the current rules. This is a preparation framework, not legal advice or a determination that a particular product is permitted. Some products or markets may be ineligible.

  • Exact product or service and destination URL.
  • Countries and intended audience.
  • Operator and relevant authorizations, if required.
  • Evidence supporting the claims in the ad and destination.
  • The applicable platform policy and the date you reviewed it.

Discuss account needs after the product check

Once the intended activity and market are clear, discuss the account arrangement, access, support and funding. Do not use a new account to conceal or continue an unresolved policy violation.
